Areas We Cover in Post-Divorce Actions

  • Indirect contempt action is an action where a party alleges that the other party has violated one of the courts orders in the degree of divorce or the order of paternity. Whether you're supporting or defending the allegation, we represent parties on both sides of indirection contempt actions.

  • Reallocation action involves a parent who has moved more than 75 miles from the prior address. The Oklahoma statute mandates that the other parent be given a timely written notice that is very specific. Then, if the other parent does not object to that relocation within 30 days, that relocation is automatically approved.

If the non-relocating party does reject within 30 days, a hearing is set and a complicated process is then utilized by the court to determine if the move was made in good faith. If a determination was made that it was in good faith, the move is approved. If not in good faith, some factors are considered and further actions are considered, including not approving the move, penalizing the party, or even changing custody.
